Rondon leads Maroons; Tigers, Chargers net wins
CHAMPAIGN – Centennial's Jake Flessner singled home Don McDuffee in the bottom of the sixth to break up a pitchers' duel and give the Chargers a 1-0 baseball win against Danville on Wednesday.
ST. JOSEPH – Emily Harms and Brittany Earl each hit home runs for St. Joseph-Ogden in a doubleheader sweep of Momence on Saturday in prep softball.
VILLA GROVE – Cody Hatcher went 4 for 4 with four RBI to power Villa Grove to an 11-1 baseball victory against Arthur-Lovington on Friday.
Sean Cler was 3 for 4 with three RBI and Eric Douglas pitched a three-hitter for the Blue Devils. Douglas also went 2 for 2, while teammate Austin Prosser had two hits and drove in two runs.
CHAMPAIGN – Caitlin Lowry scored two second-half goals and Claire Dabrowski made seven saves as St. Thomas More beat Judah Christian 2-1 in girls' soccer Saturday.

Romshek tosses perfect game
JAMAICA – Winning pitcher Joel Learnard struck out 13 and blasted a three-run home run to lift Salt Fork to an 11-1 win against Bismarck-Henning in a five-inning baseball game.
DANVILLE – Kara Breedlove scored three unassisted goals and assisted on another to lead Mahomet-Seymour to a 6-1 girls' soccer victory against Danville on Tuesday.
Freshman Ashlyn Overley scored the Vikings' lone goal.
MAHOMET – Centennial pounded out 23 hits Saturday in a doubleheader sweep of Mahomet-Seymour in prep baseball action.
OAKWOOD – Brady Leeman tossed a complete-game one-hitter, fanning eight in Oakwood's 4-0 win against Milford (7-2) in baseball on Thursday. Milford's Kris Evans led off the game with a single and was subsequently picked off of first base by Leeman (2-0).
"Brady spotted every pitch today," Oakwood coach Bob Sermak said. "He threw a tremendous game, probably the best I have seen him in the four years he has been here."
CHAMPAIGN – Timmie Johnson made short work of the opposition Wednesday.
The Champaign Central senior pitched a no-hitter in a 10-0, five-inning win against Kankakee. He struck out seven, walked one and was one pitch away from a perfect game. Johnson also scored twice.
MAHOMET – Bob Schroeder and Josh Raymond belted back-to-back two-out home runs in the bottom of the sixth inning Tuesday to lift Mahomet-Seymour to a 2-1 baseball triumph against Pontiac.
