In the process of capturing their first regional championship in the sport, the Rockets qualified for state in 10 of 18 events, including two entries in the 300-meter hurdles. Senior Zebo Zebe ranks among the Class 1A state leaders in both the 400 and 800.

The Spartans won the title at their own Spartan Classic on Friday, sweeping the 400, 800, 1,600 and 3,200 relays. They turned around and won the Sangamon Valley Conference title at Paxton-Buckley-Loda on Monday, again sweeping all four relays.
