Odenigbo first Class of 2014 commit

The Illinois football team received a verbal commitment from Tito Odenigbo on Monday night.

Odenigbo is a junior defensive end from Centerville (Ohio) High School and is the first Class of 2014 player to commit to Illinois coach Tim Beckman.

Bridge's departure raises recruiting questions

Jim Bridge brought a sterling recruiting reputation with him to Illinois.

Now, that pedigree will go somewhere else.

Bridge, hired Jan. 23 as the offensive line coach at Illinois, reportedly took the same job at Purdue on Tuesday, the same day spring practices started at Illinois.

MANSFIELD — Big changes will be taking place for the Blue Ridge High School football team in the fall.

Because of to the low numbers of students (especially juniors and seniors) who have committed to playing football for the 2013 season, Blue Ridge will only be running a junior varsity schedule.
