Quincy Notre Dame 47, Centennial 43. Chantal Meacham scored a team-high 11 points for the host Chargers, who led 17-15 at halftime. Centennial, which was ranked sixth in the Class 3A preseason poll, was outscored 16-11 in the third quarter by Quincy Notre Dame (10-0), which was ranked second in the preseason poll.

Fisher girls on path to success

GIBSON CITY — The timetable hasn’t changed.

“From the start (of the season), we looked at this as a two-year plan,” Fisher girls’ basketball coach Ken Ingold said.

A girls’ basketball team that was underclass-oriented when the season began became even more youthful when the lone senior left the team recently to prepare for the indoor track and field season.

The visiting Lancers got a game-high 23 points from KARLY GOODMAN and ASHLEY TABB added 11 in the win. Heritage was led by DALLAS McCORMICK (20 points) and MARY HAPP (13).
