■ Bismarck-Henning 58, Armstrong-Potomac 28. Austin Toler scored 13 of his 20 points in the first half to propel the Blue Devils to a 35-9 lead. Wilde Garowski added 13 points for B-H. Wade Rogers paced A-P with 12 points.

BROADLANDS — Heritage’s Stephanie Sanderson, an All-Area second-team selection as a junior outfielder, will play softball at Kankakee Community College. Sanderson batted .535 (61 for 114) for a 28-4 team. She also stole 33 bases and was fourth in the area in runs (57).

Recently: A fourth-year varsity player and the team’s (11-5) top scorer this season, he hit a game-high 12 points in a win against Corn Belt power Prairie Central.

Panthers (9-1) had individuals finish among the top four in eight of the 14 weight classes while pinning down team honors in the 47th George Girardi Invitational. Alex Matlock (106), Tate Ruffner (113) and Tyler Walsh (120) won titles. Peyton Roop was second at 132, and Ty Sandy won at 220.

DANVILLE — Georgetown-Ridge Farm girls’ basketball coaches Michelle Brooks and assistant Allan Hall are current staff members with a link to a part of the Buffaloes’ historic past.
In wrestling
At Urbana. Cameron Mammen’s final Urbana Invitational was one to remember. The Tigers senior pinned each of his three opponents, two in less than a minute, to win the 195-pound class and earn the Most Outstanding Wrestler award for the upper-weight divisions.

With one quarter left, St. Thomas More held the upper hand Saturday on the state’s No. 1-ranked Class 4A girls’ basketball team.
