Girls' Golf Coach of the Year: Guy Percy, GCMS

Guy Percy, who has headed up the Falcons' boys' and girls' programs the last two seasons, led the girls' squad to an 18-0 regular season — the first unbeaten season in program history. Under Percy's direction, GCMS ran away with the Heart of Illinois Conference meet, winning by 42 strokes, and finished second at the Watseka Regional, shooting a season-low 337.

Girls' Golfer of Year: Myerscough happy with choice

CHAMPAIGN — At the start of her high school career, Sierra Myerscough's story was shaping up to be that of a prolific softball player. As a freshman, she was an honorable mention All-Sangamon Valley Conference pick and made the first team as a sophomore.

"I thought softball was gonna be in my future," Myerscough said. "I thought I was going to play in college."

Second-place showing leaves B-H golfers tickled pink

BLOOMINGTON — As they drove back home following Saturday's final round of the Class 1A boys' state tournament, Bismarck-Henning's golfers could have spent the entire ride ruing a sculled shot here or a poor putt there.

After all, they came within 3 strokes of winning a state championship. Three measly strokes.

Marcum, Myerscough make most of final shot

DECATUR — Now a three-time state qualifier, LeRoy's Molly Marcum was lucky to advance out of the sectional after shooting an 84.
