MAHOMET – Brannon Kwiatkowski homered three times and drove in seven runs for Mahomet-Seymour in a 13-3 win against Normal U-High on Thursday in Corn Belt baseball action.
Kwiatkowski, who has an area-best 13 homers, also scored four times for the Bulldogs. Alex Smith and winning pitcher Jason Ziegler also homered for M-S.
FISHER – Fisher remained unbeaten in the Heart of Illinois Conference as Taw Fredrickson outdueled Blue Ridge's Cody Warren for a 1-0 Bunnies baseball victory Tuesday.
LeROY – Eric Steffen's two-run triple drove in the winning runs as LeRoy outlasted Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley 4-3 on Monday in a 16-inning prep baseball game.
Steffen had four hits, and his last one ended the four-hour affair. The game was tied at 2 for 12 innings before GCMS pushed across a run in the top of the 16th. LeRoy responded with two.
URBANA – Want to know when the Urbana Uni High girls' soccer team knew it had turned the corner from respectability to burgeoning powerhouse?
It happened when the Illineks' conversations with their friends from rival teams took on a much different tone.
PEORIA – Jordan Wheeler tossed a five-inning perfect game and blasted a two-run home run for Blue Ridge in a 14-0 win against Peoria Manual on Saturday in softball. Melinda Wilson and Casey Thomas also connected for homers.
GIBSON CITY – Jessica Hunter belted a grand slam and drove in five runs for Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley in the Falcons' 11-0 softball win against Schlarman on Thursday.
Regan Romshek homered twice and drove in three runs. The sophomore also fired a one-hit shutout, striking out 12.
PAXTON – Dylan Overstreet pitched a four-hit shutout to lead Paxton-Buckley-Loda past St. Joseph-Ogden 5-0 on Tuesday in prep baseball.
Overstreet, Andy Fairchild, Jacob Bender and Jordan Glad each drove in a run for the Panthers (11-3). Overstreet walked three and struck out eight.
Andy Bensyl had two hits for the Spartans (7-7).

STANFORD – Olympia scored with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to hand previously unbeaten St. Joseph-Ogden a 2-1 softball loss Monday in a matchup of Class 2A state powers.
Spartans senior Jenna Slifer held Olympia to four hits and struck out six in a pitching duel with Dani Williams.
DANVILLE – Morgan King hit for the cycle and drove in nine runs as Danville completed a softball doubleheader sweep with a 16-14 victory against Unity on Saturday.
King had two singles, a double, a triple and a homer. Casey Cromwell added three hits.
