Urbana 3, Champaign Central 0. CONNER GREMER pitched a one-hitter for the host Tigers, striking out five. Urbana scored all three runs in the bottom of the fifth. TANNER GOSLIN had the lone hit for the Maroons.

Tuesday's highlights: Deaville tosses no-hitter

Rantoul 4, Pontiac 0. TERRY DEAVILLE improved to 5-0 in tossing a no-hitter with eight strikeouts to lead the host Eagles. KELLY FOSTER and RYNE WORTHINGTON each had two hits.

The Sages' (11-4) winning streak hit five as they started 2-0 in the Okaw Valley Conference. In one league game, Nick Stokowski homered in a game Jacob Williams won. In the other, Williams homered in a game Stokowski won.

Monday's highlights: M-S softball cruises

In baseball

Centennial 12, MacArthur 2. Lucas Stefan and Ryan McCuskey each had three hits and three RBI for the Chargers (13-2) in a five-inning home win. Drey Goddard held the Generals to three hits.

Friday's highlights: Schroeder sets meet record

In track & field

At Monticello. Monticello standout Steve Schroeder pulled double duty for the first time this season during the Monticello Boys Invitational on Friday.

Schroeder swept the 1,600- and 3,200-meter races. He took the 3,200 with a meet-record time of 9 minutes, 23.35 seconds and won the 1,600 in 4:30.

Thursday's prep highlights: Mennenga, Deaville deliver for Eagles

Rantoul 7, Olympia 1. The visiting Eagles got two hits and four RBI from MARTY MENNENGA and TERRY DEAVILLE had three hits and two RBI.

Rantoul 6, Mahomet-Seymour 0. TANNER McLAIN had two hits, including a homer, while RYNE WORTHINGTON and CHRIS DEAVILLE each drove in a pair of runs for the host Eagles.
