■ Rantoul 4-10, Kankakee 1-4. CORD CHURCH (two hits, RBI) and CHRIS DEAVILLE (two RBI) lifted the Eagles in Game 1. KOLTON VERMILLION had three doubles and five RBI in Game 2, TANNER McLAIN adding two hits and two RBI.
■ SJ-O 9, PBL 4. Jake Stewart went 3 for 3 with two runs and three RBI for visiting St. Joseph-Ogden, which received two doubles and one triple from Louis Acklin. Jonah Wilson had three hits for Paxton-Buckley-Loda.
■ Centennial 13, Urbana 3. Centennial took advantage of defensive struggles by Urbana to dart out to a 10-0 lead after two innings thanks to a nine-run second inning and never looked back in a Big 12 road win during Centennial’s conference opener at Prairie Park that lasted six innings.
■ St. Joseph-Ogden 1, PBL 0. Hunter Hart struck out 14 while throwing a no-hitter, outdueling freshman Jonathon Walder to lead the Spartans to a home win. SJ-O scored the game’s lone run in the third when Josh Poulter stole two bases and reached home on Jordan Buhs’ single.

In track & field
■ At Arthur. In the 11-team girls’ meet, KANDIE BLOCH-JONES of Argenta-Oreana won the high jump with a leap of 5 feet, 11 inches.
That mark ties the third highest in state history and sets an area record in the event that had stood for 27 years.
■ Charleston 13, Urbana 2. The visiting Tigers couldn't stop Charleston from scoring at least once in every inning of their five-inning road loss.
■ St. Thomas More 4, PBL 3. Winning pitcher Mike Plecki went 2 for 3 and scored twice for the host Sabers. Jonathon Walder was 2 for 2 with two runs for the Panthers.
