It's hard to believe this is my 41st year of covering sports in The News-Gazette circulation area.
There have been a lot of changes since I arrived in the area in 1968. For one thing, I was driving a Chrysler New Yorker to cover football games that fall for the now-defunct Champaign-Urbana Courier. I moved to The News-Gazette shortly before the Courier closed its doors for good in the spring of 1979.
