Skaggs tosses fourth no-hitter
GEORGETOWN – Schlarman softball coach Randy Skaggs recognizes his players won't get hits every time they bat.
WATSEKA – Andrea Palazzolo drove in three runs as St. Thomas More beat Watseka 10-2 in a Sangamon Valley Conference softball game Tuesday.
CHAMPAIGN – Champaign Central won four of six singles matches to pull away from rival Centennial in a 6-3 Big 12 Conference boys' tennis match Thursday. The Maroons, unbeaten in conference play, got singles wins from Kendrith Rowland, Keegan Bannon, Hogan Sills and Patrick Wampler.
DANVILLE – Aaron Lewellyn threw a no-hitter with 10 strikeouts as Schlarman defeated Armstrong-Potomac 1-0 in prep baseball Wednesday. Vinnie Miller had two hits and an RBI for the Hilltoppers (6-8, 3-1 Vermilion Valley).
CHAMPAIGN – At 2-11, Champaign Central hasn't enjoyed a quick start to the softball season.

FISHER – Regan Romshek wasn't perfect, but once again, Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley's softball defense was flawless.
The state-ranked Falcons remained perfect Wednesday in Heart of Illinois Conference play and freshman pitcher Romshek struck out 16 in a two-hitter for her sixth shutout, 5-0 against Fisher.
URBANA – Kelsey Choquette and Gretchen Booth scored second-half goals as Urbana pulled away from Mahomet-Seymour 3-1 in a nonconference girls' soccer match Tuesday.
RANTOUL – Hanna Mennenga pitched a no-hitter to lead Rantoul past Urbana 4-3 Monday in prep softball.
Blue Ridge's Gardner shines; Stenger does it all
URBANA – Kirstie Ruthstrom drove home Jasmine White in the bottom of the eighth inning as Urbana beat Decatur MacArthur 7-6 for its first Big 12 Conference softball win Saturday. Reba Perry was 5 for 5 for the Tigers.
