Rejuvenated Spartans hoping to regain playoff form

ST. JOSEPH – Never before has there been a softball team at St. Joseph-Ogden with the drive which exists among this year's athletes.

Five Spartans demonstrated the ability to drive the ball to all parts of the field for extra bases in Wednesday's 21-2 five-inning win against visiting Centennial.

Deters, Unity deliver

TOLONO – Emily Godsell scored on Ana Deters' two-out single in the bottom of the seventh inning as Unity beat Fisher 5-4 in softball action Saturday.

Outburst helps Buffaloes rally

WESTVILLE – Georgetown-Ridge Farm/Chrisman erupted for eight runs in the fifth inning to wipe out a 3-1 deficit en route to a 12-3 baseball victory against Westville on Friday. A.J. Pitmon went 2 for 3 and drove in four runs for the Buffaloes. Nathan Ross had two hits, two RBI and scored twice in the win. G-RF/Chrisman's 13-hit attack included two hits by Kody Kidwell and Travis Digby's homer.

Parkhill, Sabers roll to baseball win

GILMAN – Joe Parkhill, Dane Krone and Mack Meyer each pounded out four hits for St. Thomas More in the Sabers' 23-3 baseball win against Iroquois West on Thursday. Parkhill's four-hit effort included a home run and Parker Stewart went 3 for 4 and stole two bases for the Sabers in the five-inning contest.

Flessner, Martinez power Chargers win

ST. JOSEPH – Jake Flessner and Taylor Martinez each hit two-run homers to lead Centennial to a 7-2 nonconference baseball victory against St. Joseph-Ogden on Wednesday.
