At Champaign. Danville won three events, including two by Alexus Jimson-Miller, en route to finishing second in the 37-team Gene Armer Invitational girls’ meet at the University of Illinois Armory.
■ Cissna Park 5, Fisher 3. The host Timberwolves were limited to three hits but took advantage of four Fisher errors to win their opener. Beau Anderson and Alex Rabe each had one hit and one RBI for Cissna Park. Kyle Williams and Tate Estes had two hits and one RBI apiece for the Bunnies.

He most likely won’t do so anytime soon after he broke his right hand.
Vaughn, who signed with Mississippi in February, suffered the injury Saturday during a meet at Plainfield North. He was running in a sprint event and placed second.

OAKLAND — After Charlie Carver’s last year as Tri-County boys’ basketball coach (2008-09), he and his family relocated to Florida, where he coached for a year near Lake Wales. He found, “we were back and forth a lot,” so he returned to Illinois and landed at West Central (in Biggsville) for the past two seasons.
URBANA — A softball coach who allegedly began a sexual relationship with a teenage member of her team has been criminally charged.
CHAMPAIGN — Former Centennial girls’ basketball coach TIM FAIRCHILD is organizing a reunion Saturday at the state-ranked Chargers’ home game against Urbana. Former players, their parents, coaches and others who followed the team during Fairchild’s 29-year tenure are invited back to watch the game and socialize afterward.
