CHAMPAIGN – Gabe Omo-Osagie is back in the pool and making quite the splash.

After several years away from the sport, the Centennial junior switched from shooting hoops to churning through the water this winter.

CHAMPAIGN – Centennial diver Kegan Skelton and Champaign Central swimmer Sam Stewart will look to repeat as titlists Saturday in the Champaign Central Sectional meet at Unit 4 Pool at Centennial High School.

Stewart's win helps Central swimmers place second

URBANA – Sam Stewart won the 100-yard butterfly to lead Champaign Central to a runner-up finish in the Big 12 Conference boys' swimming and diving meet Saturday.

Stewart posted a 51.84-second clocking in the fly. He also nabbed second in the 200 free in 1:50.35.

Historic tourney nears end

URBANA – Nearly three-quarters of a century of tradition will end next January when the Big 12 Conference holds its league wrestling tournament. The 73rd event will be the final one.
