Centennial 12, MacArthur 2. Lucas Stefan and Ryan McCuskey each had three hits and three RBI for the Chargers (13-2) in a five-inning home win. Drey Goddard held the Generals to three hits.
Rantoul 7, Olympia 1. The visiting Eagles got two hits and four RBI from MARTY MENNENGA and TERRY DEAVILLE had three hits and two RBI.
Rantoul 6, Mahomet-Seymour 0. TANNER McLAIN had two hits, including a homer, while RYNE WORTHINGTON and CHRIS DEAVILLE each drove in a pair of runs for the host Eagles.
Lincoln-Way West 5, Champaign Central 1. JOEL SPAULDING had two hits and scored the host Maroons' only run on a double by KURTIS BROWN in the championship game of the 22nd Charlie Due tournament.
Paxton-Buckley-Loda 5, St. Thomas More 2. The host Panthers got three RBI from JIMMY QUINN while DREW SCHRODT (RBI) and JAY ESHLEMAN (run) each had a hit.
Charleston 13, Urbana 7. Salman Khan (two runs) and MICHAEL THOMPSON each had two hits and two RBI for the host Tigers.
Urbana 5, Rantoul 0. Conner Gremer pitched a no-hitter and struck out six to lead the Tigers to a road win. Tanner Russell had four hits, including a double and triple, and scored three runs for Urbana.
St. Joseph-Ogden 2-12, Danville 1-2. LOUIS ACKLIN scattered four hits in six innings to pick up the win for the host Spartans in Game 1. ANDY BENSYL put SJ-O ahead with a two-run double in the third. In the nightcap, AARON WOLLER had three hits (two doubles) and three RBI to pace the SJ-O offense. HUNTER HART added two hits and two RBI.
CHAMPAIGN — Madie Baillon's singles record this season was 22-3.
It was the smaller number, though, that had the biggest impact on the larger number.
And there was one match, in particular, that showed just how far Baillon, St. Thomas More's standout junior, has advanced in her tennis career.
