CHAMPAIGN – Jenna Einck and her St. Thomas More teammates like to get a jump on the competition.
They do so from the time they approach the service line. Rather than stand flat-footed to put the ball in play, Einck and her teammates employ a running jump-serve.

Time and again, Champaign Central's Shelby Strang has passed one of the hardest tests in volleyball. She has successfully returned a spike attempt from an opposing player and put the ball in position where the Maroons' setter can do her job.
Strang "digs" volleyball like no other player in Central's volleyball history. She will soon become the school's first member of the 1,000-dig club (she has 985).
