For at least 10 minutes, Nate Volk was forced to bide his time after reporting to the mat Saturday for his third and most important match of the day.

At LOVC tournament. Tim Weaver scored a game-high 22 points, leading Cerro Gordo to a 56-52 victory against Arcola in the title game at Atwood-Hammond. The Broncos received 13 points from Devin McWilliams.

In boys' basketball

At OVC tournament. LUCAS MOSSMAN had 18 points and MICAH PLANK added 16 for Sullivan in a 62-54 loss to Shelbyville.

Clinton dropped a 53-38 decision to Warrensburg-Latham despite getting nine points from JACOB ROCKHOLD.

CODY PANKAU scored 12 points and DUSTIN HAAKE added 10 for Tuscola in a 39-37 loss to Maroa-Forsyth.

Thursday's prep highlights: Tuscola girls win OVC title

In girls' basketball

Tuscola 45, St. Teresa 33. The Warriors continued their success at Decatur, beating the hosts for the second consecutive time to take the Okaw Valley tournament title.

Tuscola, which won at St. Teresa 44-39 earlier in the season, was led by ERIN WEAVER's 15 points. SAMMI KOHLBECKER added 11 for Tuscola, which improved to 17-3.

Wednesday's highlights: Bulldogs split a pair

At Mahomet. CODY HOOPER, DEREK GRANT, KYLE HELLER, TYLER MIDDLETON, AUSTIN ARMETTA and CHRISTIAN ERKHOFF all won a pair of matches for Mahomet-Seymour, which beat Olympia and lost to Eureka.

Bismarck-Henning 66, Chrisman 17. Ten players scored for the host Blue Devils, who led 39-7 at the half. TANNER RIBBE and KRYSTIAN INGRAM scored 14 points each. AUSTIN TOLER (10 points) also reached double figures.

SHILOH GIRLS' BASKETBALL

The Raiders (21-4) won their fourth LOVC tourney crown in five years, edging Arcola 35-32 in the final. Shelby Smith was the only Raider to score in double figures in all three tournament games. Shiloh's quarterfinal win against South Piatt featured a season-high 12 three-pointers.

CORVON BUTLER led Central with 15 points. CHRIS FREEMAN scored 10 and ALEX ROUX added nine on three three-pointers. JORDAN CAROLINE had seven rebounds for the Maroons.
