The pursuit for the top players in the Class of 2014 will consume college football coaching staffs in the next 10 months.

Rivals.com took a position-by-position look at the top players in the particular class that will come to the forefront in early February during National Signing Day.

36th All-Area Girls' Basketball Coach of Year: STM's Chris Mennig

Guided St. Thomas More to a runner-up finish in the Class 2A state tournament. The 32 wins — including 16 in a row — were two of 55 school records (for a season or game) the team set or tied. Among the others: points per game (67.0), field goal accuracy (47.2) and turnovers forced (26.5 per game).

“You’ll be writing about her,” the writer predicted.

CISSNA PARK — Josh Marquez went 3 for 3 with four RBI, leading Cissna Park to a 10-6 victory and a split in its baseball doubleheader against Momence on Thursday.
