INVITATION FOR BID PROPOSALS

WASHINGTON STREET IMPROVEMENTS

Village of Philo, Illinois

The Village of Philo is soliciting sealed bid proposals for improvements for Washington Street. Project length is approximately 1,243 feet (0.235 miles) and consists of mill and overlay of asphalt pavement, full depth asphalt, concrete curb and gutter, sidewalk, pavement striping and other miscellaneous items.

The Village will receive sealed bid proposals in the office of the Village of Philo, 127 W. Washington Street, Philo, Illinois until 2:00 pm, May 7, 2015. The bids will be publicly opened at that time and read.

The bid documents can be obtained at the office of the Village Engineer, MSA Professional Services, Inc., 201 W. Springfield Avenue, Suite 400, Champaign, IL 61820.

Bidder’s sealed envelope must be clearly labeled with the project name along with the contractor’s name and address.

Each proposal shall be accompanied by a proposal guarantee payable to the Village as provided in Article 102.01 of the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction (latest edition) of the Illinois Department of Transportation. Failure to execute a contract by the successful bidder shall cause forfeiture of his/her bid guarantee.

Attention is called to the fact that not less than minimum salaries and wages as set forth in the contract must be paid on this project and that the contractor must ensure that employees and applicants are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex, age, or national origin.

The Village reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive any or all formalities in the bidding.
