A. Your firm is invited to submit an offer under seal to Owner for renovation of the FAIR OAKS facility located at 1607 Clyman Ln., Danville, IL 61832. Bids are due at the office of the Danville Housing Authority, 1607 Clyman Ln., Danville, IL before 2:00 pm local standard time on the 22 day of October, 2015, after which bids will be opened and read aloud publicly. Bids must be clearly marked as"BID - DHA Fair Oaks Laundry Facility.
B. Project Description: The Danville Housing Authority requests bids for general contractor work that will be done as part of the renovation at FAIR OAKS located at 1607 Clyman Lane, Danville, IL 61832. The project includes renovation to a portion of the building formerly used for Head Start programs into a laundry facility for the Fair Oaks Community. Work includes, but is NOT LIMITED TO: Removal of existing interior wall framing & soffits, existing floor and wall patching, new interior walls & soffit construction, new doors, fames and hardware, removal of existing bathroom fixtures and accessories to accommodate janitor/storage room, replacement of two window operable windows with fixed window units. Work will also include renovations to plumbing, heating and electrical systems within the space. Washer & dryer equipment are not included in the project work.
C. Bid Documents for a Stipulated Sum contract may be obtained from the office of the Architect upon receipt of a refundable deposit, by cash, check or CIB card, in the amount of $100 for one set. Contractors may be mailed sets for a non-refundable $15 fee. No partial sets will be distributed. Electronic sets may be obtained free of charge at:
D. A non-mandatory Pre-bid meeting will be held at the site on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 10:00am.
E. Bidders will be required to provide Bid security in the form of a Bid Bond of a sum no less than 5 percent of the Bid Amount. A 100% Performance/Payment Bond will be required.
F. Contractors will be required to comply with all laws, including those relating to minimum wages, overtime pay requirements for employees, nondiscrimination/equal opportunity rules (Executive Order 11246), "Section 3" of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, and prevailing wage rates of the various classes of work to be performed under the proposed contract, in accordance with Federal Labor Standards provisions, US Dept of Labor.
G. Refer to other bidding requirements described in Document HUD 5369 -Instructions to Bidders for Contracts Public & Indian Housing Programs.
H. Your offer will be required to be submitted under a condition of irrevocability for a period of sixty (60) days after submission.
