NOTICE OF A PUBLIC HEARING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHAMPAIGN, ILLINOIS, ON EXTENDING AN EXISTING INTERIM DEVELOPMENT ORDINANCE FOR THE IT-MF, IN-TOWN MULTIFAMILY, IT-MX, IN-TOWN MIXED USE AND IT-NC, IN-TOWN NEIGHBORHOOD CONSERVATION ZONING DISTRICTS AS DESCRIBED IN CHAPTER 37 OF THE CHAMPAIGN MUNICIPAL CODE FOR AN ADDITIONAL PERIOD OF 90 DAYS (PL18-0019).

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to all interested persons that a public hearing will be held in the Council Chambers of the City Building, 102 North Neil Street, Champaign, Illinois, on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. before the City Council, concerning a proposed extension to an existing Interim Development Ordinance (IDO) for the IT-MF, IT-MX and IT-NC Zoning Districts.

The existing IDO establishes limitations on the issuance of building permits for new construction in the IT-MF, In-Town Multifamily, IT-MX, In-Town Mixed Use and IT-NC, In-Town Neighborhood Conservation Zoning Districts while the City studies and considers various amendments to the existing zoning and land use regulations for those districts. The areas affected by this proposed IDO include all property within the corporate limits of the City of Champaign with the zoning classification of IT-MF, In-Town Multifamily, IT-MX, In-Town Mixed Use and IT-NC, In-Town Neighborhood Conservation as described on the City of Champaign Official Zoning Map as adopted by City Council last on March 21, 2017 under Council Bill 2017-068 and as amended. The IDO was originally adopted for one hundred and eighty (180) days and will expire on July 15, 2018. This proposal would extend the IDO an additional ninety (90) days, such that the IDO would expire on October 13, 2018. All interested persons are invited to attend and offer comments in favor of or against said extension.

This notice is given pursuant to the provisions of Section 37-758 of the Champaign Municipal Code, 1985, as amended.

In said public hearing, all interested persons will be given an opportunity to be heard and to present their arguments for or against passage of an Ordinance enacting the aforesaid action.
