ROAD DISTRICT

BUDGET

Notice is hereby given that a tentative budget and appropriation ordinance for the road district of Urbana Township in the County of Champaign, State of Illinois, for the fiscal year beginning April 1, 2015 and ending March 31, 2016, will be on file and conveniently available to public inspection at 2312 E. Perkins Rd, Urbana Illinois from and after 9am, May 13, 2015. Normal office hours are 8:30am – 11am.

Notice is further given hereby that a public hearing on said budget and appropriation ordinance will be held at 5:50pm on June 9, 2015 at 2312 E. Perkins Rd. Urbana, Illinois and that final action on this ordinance will be taken by the Board of Trustees at the meeting to be held immediately following said public hearing.

Sealed Bids will be received until 2:00 p.m. prevailing time on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at the office of Berns, Clancy and Associates, 405 East Main Street, Urbana, Illinois, 61802 at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

The Contract Documents may be examined at the offices of the Engineer during normal business hours.

Complete sets of Contract Documents may be obtained at the offices of the Engineer upon depositing the sum of $80.00 for each set of Documents. Payment for each set shall be made in currency or by check, bank draft, or money order payable to Berns, Clancy and Associates. Each such deposit will not be refunded. Partial sets of documents will not be provided. Only Plan Holders of Record that obtain documents from the Engineer may submit bids for this project.

Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond, bank cashier’s check, or properly certified check in the amount of 5% of the bid amount. A Contract Bond in the total amount of the contract price with a corporate surety approved by the Owner will be required for the faithful performance of the contract.

The project includes demolition of 2,295 square yards of asphalt pavement, demolition of 185 square yards of concrete pavement, demolition of 162 square yards of concrete sidewalk, construction of 3,724 square yards of concrete pavements with 1,251 lineal feet of monolithic curb, construction of 1,492 square feet of concrete sidewalks, storm sewer construction and other construction items.

A pre-bid conference will be held at 3:00 p.m. on April 30, 2015 at the Champaign-Urbana Public Health District conference room, 201 West Kenyon Road, Champaign, Illinois 61820.

The commencement date for all work contained in the Contract is May 20, 2015.

The completion date for the West Parking Lot is June 30, 2015.

The completion date for all other work contained in the Contract is October 16, 2015.

The Contractor shall be required to provide certificates of insurance as indicated in the documents.

The Contractor will be required to comply with all Federal, State and Municipal laws and regulations, including those related to discrimination, prevailing wage, safety, bid-rigging, human rights, preferential employment of Illinois labor and equal opportunity employment.

The Champaign-Urbana Public Health District reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any formalities or inconsistencies in the bids, to reduce the scope of work to accommodate the project budget, to accept any proposals which it deems most favorable, or to continue the letting from time to time as deemed in the best interest of the Owner.

Bids may be held by the Champaign-Urbana Public Health District for a period not to exceed thirty (30) days from the date of the opening of bids for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of bidders, prior to awarding the contract.
