The Murdock Township Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing at 6:30 p.m., Friday, October 12, 2018, at the Township Office, 206 W. Seminary, Murdock, Illinois 61941. The purpose of the public hearing on the Tentative Report and proposed Zoning Ordinance prepared by the Commission will be to hear arguments for and against adoption of the proposed Township Zoning Ordinance dividing Murdock Township into districts, regulating and restricting the location and use of buildings, structures and land for trade, industry, residence and other uses within these districts; regulating and restricting the intensity of such uses, and establishing setback lines in order to promote the orderly development of Murdock Township in accordance with the Illinois Compiled Statutes. The Ordinance is available for public inspection at the Township Office; Newman Regional Library District, 207 S. Coffin Street, Newman, Illinois; and Camargo Township District Library, 14 North Main St., Villa Grove, Illinois.

THE PESOTUM FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT IN THE COUNTIES OF CHAMPAIGN AND DOUGLAS IN THE STATE OF ILLINOIS

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF PESOTUM FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT:

SECTION 1: That the following sums for the normal corpo­rate objects and purposes hereinafter set forth and aggregat­ing Ninety-two Thousand Seven Hundred Fifty Dollars ($92,750.00), be and in the same are hereby assessed and levied for the normal corporate objects and purposes of the Pesotum Fire Protec­tion District in Champaign and Douglas Counties, Illinois, as hereinaf­ter speci­fied for the fiscal year commencing May 1, 2018 to April 30, 2019, both inclusive, upon all the real and personal property within the boundaries of the Pesotum Fire Protec­tion District in Cham­paign County, Illinois, and in Douglas County, Illinois, subject to taxation and the objects and purposes for which said tax is levied and the amount levied for each object and purpose are as follows:

For normal corporate purposes:

Administrative expense $ 4,000.00

Firemen's compensation 4,500.00

Fire station operation, maintenance,

repair and insurance 20,000.00

Fire truck and equipment maintenance

and operation 9,500.00

Purchase of fire fighting equip. 14,000.00

Total of budgeted items for

The levy rate for the fiscal year beginning May 1, 2018 is hereby increased from a rate not in excess of .125% of the value of all taxable property within the District in Champaign County and Douglas County, Illinois, as equalized or assessed by the Depart­ment of Revenue to a rate not in excess of .30% of the value of all taxable property within said District equalized or assessed by the Department of Revenue.

SECTION 2: An annual budget and appropriation ordinance has been duly adopted known as the "Combined Annual Budget and Appropriation Ordinance in and for the Pesotum Fire Protection District in the County of Champaign and State of Illinois and the County of Douglas and State of Illinois for the Fiscal Year May 1, 2018 to April 30, 2019, Both Inclu­sive", being Ordinance No. 131 and appro­priating sums set forth and levied in Section 1.

SECTION 3: The Secretary of the District and of its Board of Trustees is hereby directed and commanded to certify and file with the County Clerk of Champaign County, Illinois, within the time provided by the law, a true, literal and correct copy of this Ordinance duly certified by said Secretary.

SECTION 4: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this Ordinance are hereby repealed.

Whenever a petition signed by the electors of the Fire Protection District equal in number to 10% or more of the regis­tered voters in the Fire Protection District is filed with the Board of Trustees thereof which has adopted an ordinance in excess of 0.125% but not in excess of 0.30% in the rate of taxes, and such petition has been filed with the Board of Trustees within 30 days after the publication, which petition seeks the submission of such increase in the rate of taxes to an election, the Board of Trustees shall certify the question to the proper election officials who shall submit the question at an election in accor­dance with the General Election Law.

68 voters are required to sign a petition requesting that the question of the adoption of the tax levy be submitted to the voters of the District. The petition must be filed by October 26, 2018. The date of the prospective referendum is April 2, 2019.
