NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Plan Commission of the City of Urbana, Illinois will hold a Public Hearing on Thursday, July 23, 2013 at 7:30 P.M. in the Urbana City Council Chambers, 400 S. Vine Street, Urbana, Illinois, at which time and place the Commission will consider the following:

Plan Case 2254-T-15: An application by the Urbana Zoning Administrator to amend the Urbana Zoning Ordinance with minor changes to Article II (Definitions), Article V (Use Regulations), Article VI (Development Regulations), Article VII (Conditional and Special Uses), Article VIII (Parking and Access), Article IX (Signs), Article X (Nonconformities), Article XI (Administration), Article XII (Historic Preservation), and Article XIII (Special Development Provisions).

The Urbana Zoning Administrator is proposing to amend the Zoning Ordinance, including but not limited to the following: amend Article II (Definitions) to update graphics and to add and amend definitions; amend Article V (Use Regulations) to correct references and to make minor changes to home occupation regulations; amend Table V-1 (Table of Uses) to add certain new land use categories and to update table references; amend Table VI-3 (Development Regulations by District) to update graphics and add references, and to amend yard requirements in the B-2 zoning district; amend Article VII to update terminology; amend Article VIII (Parking and Access) to update graphics, and to update requirements for drive-through facilities; amend Table VIII-7 (Parking Requirements by Use) to add parking requirements for gaming halls and townhouses, and to remove duplicate table entries; amend Article X (Nonconformities) to allow the reconstruction of non-conforming porches in required front yards; amend Article XI (Administration) to add new violations to ticketing authority; amend Article XII (Historic Preservation) to clarify designation criteria for historic properties; amend Article XIII (Special Development Provisions) to update application and review procedures for the Boneyard Creek District; and any other changes that are deemed necessary to provide clarity and ease of administration.
