The Village of Ludlow will receive sealed Bid Proposals for the construction of a Community Center Building located at 202 E. Thomas Street in Ludlow, Illinois.
Bid Proposals will be received at Smith/Burgett Architects, Inc., 102A W. Main Street, Urbana, Illinois on February 24, 2016 up to the hour of 2:00pm, prevailing time. Bid Proposals delivered after this time will not be considered. The bids will be publicly opened and read at 6:00pm prevailing time, on February 24, 2016 at the Village of Ludlow Fire Station, 200 Chestnut Street, Ludlow, Illinois.
A single Bid Proposal will be received for all work: Site, General, Plumbing, Mechanical, and Electrical make up the proposal. Bid Proposals must be submitted on the forms provided and shall contain no qualifications or interlineations.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bid Proposals or any part thereof and to waive any informalities in the bidding process.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
New construction of a 3,125gsf wood frame building with fiber cement panel siding, existing concrete and masonry foundation walls, new and existing concrete slab on grade, wood stud partitions with gypsum board, carpeting, vinyl composition tile, suspended acoustical tile ceilings, painting, metal clad windows, doors and hardware, cabinets, plumbing fixtures, furnaces, electrical power, lighting, and special systems.
A Bid Bond, in the form of AIA Document A310 made payable to the Owner in the amount of five (5%) percent of the Base Bid shall accompany each Bid as a guarantee that the Bidder, if awarded the Contract, will execute the Contract and proceed with the work.
The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a Performance Bond (AIA Document A312) and Payment Bond (AIA Document A312) as specified and in the full amount of the Contract. Cost of such bonds shall be included in the Bid Proposal.

The Bid Documents may be obtained for the purpose of Bidding from Dean’s Superior Blueprint, Inc., 404 E. University Avenue, Champaign, Illinois; phone (217) 359-3261, or on-line at Dean’s Digital Plan Room (www.deansblueprint.com) by depositing $100.00 for each set, payable to Village of Ludlow or by depositing a non-cash guaranteed security card from Contractor’s Associations. The deposit will be refunded in full upon the return of the Bid Documents, in good condition, within ten (10) days after the bid opening. The deposit of those who do not submit a bonafide bid or do not return the Bid Documents within ten (10) days after the bid opening will not be refunded.
The Owner reserves the right to require from any Bidder a detailed statement regarding the business and technical organization and plant of the Bidder that is available for the contemplated work and a list of his proposed subcontractors. Information pertaining to financial resources may also be required.
The successful Bidder will be required to comply with all laws, statutes, regulations, ordinances, rulings, or enactments of any governmental authority which are applicable to the work or to the Project. The successful bidder shall pay prevailing wages and shall utilize equal employment opportunity hiring practices in connection with this Project.
