The City of Tuscola, Illinois will receive bids for the project captioned below. Bid should be sent or delivered to the City Administrator’s office at City Hall (214 N. Main Street, Tuscola, Illinois 61953) for:

Roof Replacements - 28 Structures

Bid Opening will be on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. prevailing time at the City Administrator’s office at City Hall (214 N. Main Street, Tuscola, IL 61953) Bids will be publicly opened and read immediately after specified closing time.

The project consists of two bid packages, as described below:

Package A: Remove and replace approximately 36,000 square feet of shingled roofs on all or portions of 21 structures plus remove and replace approximately 12,000 square feet of metal roofing (exposed, grommeted fasteners) on all or portions of four buildings.

Package B: Remove and replace roofs on five structures. Existing roofs include approximately 22,000 SF of SPF roofing (one building, total + two buildings, partial) and Modified Bituman (two buildings, total). Replacement roofing consists of an EPDM single ply system (including rigid insulation and related materials).

Attention is called to the fact that the Prevailing Wage Act of the State of Illinois (820 ILCS 130/0.01 et seq.) applies to the work contemplated under this Advertisement for Bid, and the Contractor will be required to provide evidence of compliance.

Bid security is not required. Bonds (Performance and Labor & Material Payment) are also not required for this project.

Award of a contract is anticipated to occur at the April 27, 2015 regular meeting of the City Council. The Work shall be Substantially Complete on or before August 1, 2015 with final completion on or before September 1, 2015.

Bidders may obtain hard copies of the bidding documents at the office of the Architect by depositing $50.00 per set (3 sets maximum) in cash or check payable to The Upchurch Group, Inc.; 123 N. 15th St.; Mattoon, Illinois 61938; Telephone: 217-235-3177, Facsimile: 217-258-6115, Email: Bid deposits will be returned to those who submit a bid to the owner and return the documents in serviceable condition no later than one week after the date of the bid opening. This deposit does not include the cost of postage, a separate non-refundable $5.00 payment is required if documents are to be shipped. Subcontractors are requested to use bidding documents made available to them by prime bidders.

Prebid meetings are scheduled for Thursday, April 2, 2015. Parties interested in Bid Package A should meet at the Ervin Park North Picnic Shelter (100 W. Northline Road) at 9:00 A.M. Those interested in Bid Package B should meet at City Hall (214 N. Main) at 10:30 A.M.
