The proposed improvements are generally located along Washington Street and Glenn Park Drive between Mattis Avenue and Garfield Avenue in the City of Champaign, in Champaign County, Illinois. Proposed drainage and street improvements will be done on Washington Street, Miller Avenue, Fair Street, Carson Avenue, Columbia Avenue, Draper Avenue, Garfield Avenue, and S. Glenn Park Drive for a total distance of 5,287 feet. The improvements also include the construction of a dry detention basin and a wet retention basin between Mattis Avenue and Miller Avenue.
The work under this contract shall consist of the construction of the following elements:
- Earth excavation, topsoil placement and plantings for detention and retention basins and rain gardens;
- Grading and subgrade preparation for new roadway construction;
- Portland Cement concrete pavement over an aggregate base course;
- Concrete curbs and gutters;
- Storm sewers and associated storm drainage structures;
- Portland Cement concrete sidewalks and driveways;
- Concrete retaining wall with overlook feature;
- Hexagon shelter and trellis;
- Waterfall feature;
- Street and walkway lighting;
- Traffic signals;
- Ornamental fence;
- Water main and sanitary sewer replacements and sewer lining;
- Various removals, excavations, landscaping and other work necessary to complete the construction as shown in the plans and required by the specifications.
