NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Illinois Pollution Control Board gives notice of public hearing regarding rule changes proposed by the Board on May 7, 2015: In the Matter of: Amendments to 35 Ill. Adm. Code Part 214, Sulfur Limitations, Part 217, Nitrogen Oxides Emissions, and Part 225, Control of Emissions from Large Combustion Sources, R15-21. If adopted by the Board, the Agency intends to submit the following to the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) for approval as State Implementation Plan (SIP) revisions: 1) The Agency’s proposed changes to 35 Ill. Adm. Code 214 as revisions to Illinois’ sulfur dioxide (SO2) SIP, to satisfy Clean Air Act (CAA) requirements for areas designated nonattainment with respect to the 2010 SO2 National Ambient Air Quality Standard; 2) The Agency’s proposed changes to 35 Ill. Adm. Code 217.Subpart Q as revisions to Illinois’ Nitrogen Oxides (NOx) SIP Call Phase II SIP, to satisfy CAA requirements for NOx and requirements set forth in USEPA’s NOx SIP Call Phase II Rule; and 3) The Agency’s proposed changes to 35 Ill. Adm. Code 225.291, 225.292, 225.293, 225.295, 225.296 (except 225.296(d)), and 225.Appendix A as revisions to Illinois’ Regional Haze SIP, to address visibility protection requirements set forth in the CAA. Interested persons are invited to attend the hearings or to submit written comments. The first Public Hearing will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at 9:00 a.m. at the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency, Sangamo Conference Room, 1021 N. Grand Ave E, (North Entrance), Springfield Illinois. The second Public Hearing will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at the Will County Executive Office, Second Floor, County Board Chambers, 302 North Chicago Street, Joliet Illinois. The third Public Hearing will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at 111 South Capitol Street, Council Chambers, Pekin Illinois. The hearings are subject to cancellation without notice and may be confirmed by calling the Office of the Clerk at 312/814-3461. A copy of the proposal for public comment is available for public inspection on the Board’s website at http://www.ipcb.
