The Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District (MTD) will receive sealed bids for the demolition of 59 E Chester St and 207 S Water St. Bids must be submitted by 2:00 pm on March 16, 2017 to MTD’s Administration & Operations Facility 1101 E. University Avenue Urbana, Illinois 61802-2009. Immediately after the closing time for receiving bids, they will be publicly opened and read aloud.

The buildings to be demolished will be open for optional inspection on Monday, March 6, 2017 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

Project Description:

Demolish all structures on site and restore to a vacant lot per demolition contract.

59 E Chester St: a combination two-story, brick building with no basement, approximately 1,200-square feet per level and a one-story brick building with no basement, approximately 2,700 square feet in size.

207 S Water St: a one-story, brick and concrete-block building with no basement, approximately 1,700-square feet in size.

The Illinois Historic Preservation Agency has reviewed the properties and indicated that no historic, architectural, or archeological sites exist within the project area.
