The bid documents, including plans and specifications will be available AUGUST 21, 2017 from Dean’s Blueprint, 404 E. University Ave. Champaign, IL 61820, (217-359-3261). Contractors are able to order documents on-line at Dean’s Digital Plan Room. www.deansblueprint.com

The project includes upgrades and improvements to the existing direct digital Alpha Control System.

Contractors may obtain one (1) hard copy of the Bid Documents with a refundable deposit of $50 per set, made payable to Champaign Unit 4 School District. Additional copies of the Bid Documents may be purchased at a non-refundable cost to the Contractor. Bid Documents are also available for viewing online at Dean’s Digital Plan Room. Shipping costs for Bid Documents are the responsibility of the Contractors.

Plan deposits will be refunded in full upon the return of the Bid Documents, in good condition, within ten (10) days after the bid opening. The deposits of Contractors who do not submit a bona fide bid or do not return the Bid Documents within ten (10) days after the bid opening will not be refunded.

PRE-BID MEETING: SEPTEMBER 12, 2017 at 3:00 pm at Barkstall Elementary School, 2201 Hallbeck Dr, Champaign, Illinois 61822.

BID DATE: October 17, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Mellon Administration Center, 703 South New Street, Champaign, Illinois 61820.

Contractor and Subcontractors shall include in bids, the cost for the current prevailing wage (Illinois Prevailing Wage Act - 820 ILCS 130/0.01 et seq.). The Contractor shall ensure that any Subcontractors shall comply with the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act.

It is the intent of Champaign Community School District Unit #4 to utilize Minority and Female Business Enterprises (MBE/FBE) in the construction of the school facilities in the District. In this regard, the District encourages minority and female participation as Prime Contractors, as well as for Prime Contractors to utilize available resources to identify such businesses, and recruit them to work as Subcontractors and suppliers on the Project. The District’s target goal is 6% MBE and 4% FBE participation. The percent goal is reflective of current Capital Development Board participation goals for Champaign County at the date of this notice.

Other pertinent information applicable to the form of the Bid, the manner of its submission, and the documents which must accompany it are included in the Specifications and other Contract Documents.
