PROPOSED ZONING ORDINANCE TEXT AMENDMENT

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Plan Commission of the City of Urbana, Illinois will hold a public hearing on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in the Urbana City Council Chambers, 400 South Vine Street, Urbana, Illinois, at which time and place the Commission will consider the following rezoning:

Plan Case 2371-T-19: An application by the Urbana Zoning Administrator to amend the Urbana Zoning Ordinance with minor changes to Article IV (District and Boundaries), Article VI (Development Regulations), Article VII (Conditional and Special Use Permits), Article VIII (Parking and Access), Article IX (Signs and OASS Regulations), Article XI (Administration), and Article XIII (Special Development Provisions).

The Urbana Zoning Administrator is proposing to amend the Zoning Ordinance to amend Article IV (District and Boundaries) to publish the zoning map online to immediately reflect changes; amend Article V (Use Regulations), Article VIII (Parking and Access), Article XI (Administration), and Article XIII (Special Development Provisions) to replace the word “handicapped” with “accessible”; amend Article VIII (Parking and Access) to fix minor updates; amend Article IX (Signs and OASS Regulations) to clarify types of temporary signs and add Table IX-11 to clarify the temporary sign regulations; and to amend Article VII (Conditional and Special Use Permits), Article XI (Administration), and Article XIII (Special Development Provisions) to clarify which officials vote to approve zoning permits and amendments.
