Notice is hereby given that an Annual Meeting and Election will be held on the 3rd day of February, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at the Round Barn Banquet Centre, 1900 Round Barn Rd., Champaign, IL. Two (2) Directors will be elected to serve the Champaign County Soil and Water Conservation District of the State of Illinois.
All persons, firms or corporations who hold legal title or are in legal possession of any land lying within the boundaries of the said district are eligible to vote at said election, whether as lessee, renter, tenant or otherwise.
Only such persons, firms or corporations are eligible to vote.

Sealed BIDS will be received until 2:00 P.M. prevailing time on FEBRUARY 22, 2017 and opened and read aloud publicly at 2:02 P.M. prevailing time on FEBRUARY 22, 2017 at the office of the City Engineer, 706 South Glover, Urbana, Illinois, 61802 for the 2017 BRICK SIDEWALK REPAIR PROJECT (City Section 16-00564-00-SW) furnishing of all materials, equipment and labor necessary to complete the removal and resetting of brick sidewalk pavers, palletizing of brick pavers, aggregate base course, soil separator fabric, grading and seeding, concrete sidewalk removal, traffic control and all other work related to the completion of the project as indicated by the plan and specifications and as directed by the ENGINEER or Designee. All of the sidewalks under this project belong to the City of Urbana.
Each BID must be accompanied by a BID BOND payable to the City of Urbana in the amount of five percent of the total amount of the BID. The Bid Bond of the three lowest bidders for the CONTRACT will be held until receipt of a signed CONTRACT and CONTRACT BOND. All other BID BONDS will be returned after comparison of the BIDS.
A CONTRACT BOND in the total amount of the contract price with a corporate surety approved by the City will be required for the faithful performance of the CONTRACT.
The BID forms and plans may be examined and copies obtained at the office of the City Engineer, 706 South Glover Avenue, Urbana, Illinois 61802.
All bidders are required to provide current financial and experience statements or other pre-qualification documents to show satisfactory evidence of the bidder’s competency to perform the proposed work prior to award of CONTRACT.
PRE-BID CONFERENCE: A pre-bid conference will be held prior to the Bid opening 2:00 P.M. prevailing time on FEBRUARY 15, 2017 at the office of the City Engineer, 706 South Glover Avenue, Urbana, Illinois, 61802 to familiarize Bidders with this Project
The award for the CONTRACT will be made to the lowest qualified bidder.

The URBANA & CHAMPAIGN SANITARY DISTRICT will receive sealed bids for the UCSD Northeast Plant Road Improvements project. Bids will be received until closing time of 3:00 p.m. prevailing time on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at the offices of the Urbana & Champaign Sanitary District, 1100 E. University Avenue, Urbana, Illinois. Bids submitted by mail should be identified on the outside of the envelope as a bid for the UCSD Northeast Plant Road Improvements Project, and should be addressed to: Urbana and Champaign Sanitary District, P.O. Box 669, Urbana, IL 61803-0669.

Paper copies of the Contract Documents can be examined and obtained from the District at its office located at 1100 East University Ave., Urbana, Illinois by request. Paper copies of the Contract Documents will be furnished to prospective bidders at no charge.
A Pre-Bid Meeting and site visit will be held at the offices of the Urbana & Champaign Sanitary District at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2017. This meeting is not mandatory, but it is highly recommended that all Bidders visit the site and familiarize themselves with the project area.
All bids will be opened and publicly read aloud during the course of business. Bids received after the closing time will not be accepted and will be returned unopened.
Attention of the Bidders is called to Sections of the Illinois Revised Statutes (1981), as amended, pertaining to the prevailing wage law. The Contractor will be required to comply with the requirement of this statute. A copy of the current prevailing wage determination is enclosed in the bidding documents. Attention of the Bidders is directed to the fact that the District is not required to pay Federal Excise Tax or State Sales Tax
Attention of the Bidders is also called to provisions of the Fair Employment Practices Act of the State of Illinois, and particularly to the provisions of Section 4 thereof. The contract to be entered into shall be conditioned as provided by law.
Attention of the Bidders is called to provisions of the “Preference to Citizens (Illinois) on Public Works Projects Act” Chapter 48, Section 269-275 of the Illinois Revised Statutes.
The Urbana & Champaign Sanitary District, reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities in bidding. No bid shall be withdrawn after the opening of bids without consent of the Urbana & Champaign Sanitary District, for a period of sixty (60) days.
