REGARDING A PROPOSED SPECIAL USE PERMIT

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Plan Commission of the City of Urbana, Illinois will hold a public hearing on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at 7:30 P.M. in the Urbana City Council Chambers, 400 South Vine Street, Urbana, Illinois, at which time and place the Commission will consider the following petition:

Plan Case 2235-SU-14: A request by Bradley Kelm for a Special Use Permit for additions, as well as exterior and interior upgrades to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses Church at 1407 E. Scovill in the R-3, Single-Family and Two-Family Residential District.

Table V-1, Table of Uses, of the Urbana Zoning Ordinance requires a Special Use Permit for a church located in the R-3, Residential District. The proposed project includes additions to the existing auditorium, as well as the addition of a portico and mechanical room, along with the installation of a new roof and other interior and exterior upgrades.

AMENDMENT

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Plan Commission of the City of Urbana, Illinois will hold a Public Hearing on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at 7:30 P.M. in the Urbana City Council Chambers, 400 S. Vine Street, Urbana, Illinois, at which time and place the Commission will consider the following:

Plan Case 2234-T-14: An amendment to Article II and Article V of the Urbana Zoning Ordinance to add definitions and to establish use provisions for “Medical Cannabis Dispensaries” and “Medical Cannabis Cultivation Facilities”, Urbana Zoning Administrator, applicant.

The Urbana Zoning Administrator is proposing to amend Article V of the Zoning Ordinance to add use categories and regulations for “Medical Cannabis Dispensaries” and “Medical Cannabis Cultivation Facilities”. The proposed amendment would also add definitions for these uses to Article II, consistent with the Illinois Compassionate Use of Medical Cannabis Pilot Program Act. Other sections of the Zoning Ordinance may also be updated as needed. The proposed amendment is subject to change during the public hearing process.
