Gilbane Building Company, Construction Manager, for and acting on behalf of Paxton-Buckley-Loda Community Unit School District #10 Board of Education, is receiving pre-qualification applications from interested contractors for the Paxton-Buckley-Loda Community Unit School District #10 Project, Paxton, IL. The Paxton-Buckley-Loda Community Unit School District #10 Project consists of a 65,000 SF Addition to Clara Peterson Elementary School that includes classrooms, gymnasium, offices and site work. Minor renovation to existing 35,676 SF Clara Peterson School including HVAC replacement, relocated Media Center, Administration Offices, Kitchen and Cafeteria, and minor finish upgrades. This work will be to install the technology and security requirements for this project.

A Pre-Bid Conference will be held on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at 3:00 p.m - 3:30 p.m. local time at Gilbane's Construction Trailer, 580 E. Franklin Paxton, IL 60957. A site visit will be held on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at 3:45 p.m - 4:30 p.m. local time at Clara Peterson Elementary School, 580 E. Franklin Paxton, IL 60957. The Proposals will be due on Monday, February 11, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. local time, at Paxton Buckley Loda CUSD 10 District Office, 700 W. Orleans Paxton, IL 60957. If you are submitting your bid via a mailing service company please have them sent to Paxton Buckley Loda CUSD 10 District Office, 700 W. Orleans Paxton, IL 60957. Bid Security in the form of a bid bond in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the base bid is required from all Bidders. No other forms of Bid Security will be accepted. Guarantee Bonds in the form of a Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the bid will be required from the awarded Bidder. The work will be done in accordance with the Contract Documents. "FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THIS INVITATION TO BID WILL RESULT IN THE DISQUALIFICATION OF THE BIDDER".

This contract calls for the construction of a "public work," within the meaning of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, 820 ILCS 130/.01 et seq. ("the Act"). The Act requires contractors and subcontractors to pay laborers, workers and mechanics performing services on public works projects no less than the "prevailing rate of wages" (hourly cash wages plus fringe benefits) in the county where the work is performed. For information regarding current prevailing wage rates, please refer to the Illinois Department of Labor's website at: https://www.illinois.gov/idol/Laws-Rules/CONMED/Pages/Rates.aspx. All contractors and subcontractors rendering services under this contract must comply with all requirements of the Act, including but not limited to, all wage, notice and record keeping duties.

Paxton-Buckley-Loda Community Unit School District #10 and Gilbane Building Company reserve the right to reject any or all bids. All information submitted as part of this process shall be considered public information under the State Freedom of Information Act unless specifically disclosed on the applicable information by the Bidder. Challenges to such exemptions shall be defended solely by the Bidder.

Bidders who are not pre-qualified in accordance with this Advertisement will have their bids returned unopened.
