Champaign Community Unit School District #4, as Owner of this Project, is receiving sealed bids from qualified trade contractors for PHASE 1 of SOUTH SIDE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL – HAZARDOUS MATERIAL ABATEMENT, located at 712 S. Pine St., Champaign, Illinois. The project includes the following: Provide all material, labor and equipment to remove and dispose of asbestos containing terrazzo panels located in restrooms of the school. The project designer is Reliable Environmental Solutions, Inc.

Contractors are encouraged to arrive early. All prospective bidders should attend this meeting to confirm the existing conditions.
This contract calls for the construction of a "public work," within the meaning of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/0.01 et seq.) ("the Act"). The Act requires contractors and subcontractors to pay laborers, workers and mechanics performing services on public works projects no less than the "prevailing rate of wages" (hourly cash wages plus fringe benefits), in the county where the work is performed. For information regarding current prevailing wage rates, please refer to the Illinois Department of Labor's website at http://www.illinois.gov/idol/Laws-Rules/CONMED/Pages/prevailing-wage-rat....
