Champaign Community Unit School District #4, as Owner of this Project, is receiving sealed bids from qualified trade contractors for PHASE 1 of SOUTH SIDE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL – HAZARDOUS MATERIAL ABATEMENT, located at 712 S. Pine St., Champaign, Illinois. The project includes the following: Provide all material, labor and equipment to remove and dispose of asbestos containing terrazzo panels located in restrooms of the school. The project designer is Reliable Environmental Solutions, Inc.

The bid documents, including plans and specifications will be available FEBRUARY 21, 2019 from Dean's Blueprint, 404 E. University Ave. Champaign, IL 61820. This project consists of the removal and installation of pavement markings.

There are two sets of diversity goals in place for this project:

(1) A utilization goal of 10% MBE (Minority Business Enterprise) and 5% WBE (Woman Business Enterprise). Utilization goals refer to the percentage of work performed by MBE or WBE subcontractors on the project.

(2) A workforce participation goal of 20% MBE and 15% WBE. Workforce participation goals refer to the percentage of minority and female individuals employed on a project.

Bidders will be required to show that they have met one or both of the above diversity goals or that they have made, or commit to making, good faith efforts to reach those goals. Sufficiency of good faith efforts may vary depending on the type of contract, the type of products and/or services to be provided, and the duration of the contract.

The City of Champaign, Illinois, reserves the right to reject any or all bids or portions thereof and towaive any formality or technicality in any bids in the interest of the City. The criteria for selection of the lowest responsible bidder are set forth in Section 12.5-38 of the Champaign Municipal Code, 1985, as amended and the bid documents.

To the extent required by law, the contractor shall comply with the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, the Veteran's Preference Act, the Employment of Illinois Workers on Public Works Act, the City's Equal Opportunity in Purchasing Ordinance and the Illinois Human Rights Act.

If federal funds are used to finance this project, the contractor shall comply with the Davis-Bacon Act.

Champaign Community Unit School District #4, as Owner of this Project, is receiving sealed bids from qualified trade contractors for Bid Phase 2 Re-Bid, Addition and Renovation –– South Side Elementary School, located at 712 S. Pine St., Champaign, Illinois. Project includes approximately 29,000 sf of interior renovation of the existing 2-story school which consists of interior demolition, new interior finishes, and new M.E.P. systems throughout. The project also includes a 15,840 sf 2-story addition consisting of new classrooms, cafeteria, kitchen/concession area, Administration area, and a new gym.

The current bid phase is Phase 2 re-bid, which will include re-bidding Roofing and General Trades bid packages. These will be broken out into multiple bid packages. Bid phase 1 included 100% of the site utilities including site water, site sanitary, site storm, and site electrical. The work also consisted of a portion of the interior plumbing and electrical work terminating at the mechanical room.

This project will have Alternate bids and these will be listed in the specifications and also identified on the bid form.

Bidders will be sub-contracting this work this work to the Construction Manager, Broeren Russo Builders, Inc. The project Architect is BLDD Architects.

A non-mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at 2:00 PM (CDT), at the Mellon Administration Building, located at 702 New St. in Champaign, IL.

Sealed bids, in duplicate, will be received by Champaign Community Unit School District #4 at the Windsor Administration Building up until 2:00PM (CDT) on Wednesday, March 6, 2019.
