The Illinois Pollution Control Board gives notice of public hearing regarding rule changes proposed by the Board on November 20, 2014: Definition of VOM Update, USEPA Amendments (January 1, 2014 through June 30, 2014), R15-5. If the Board adopts the rules, the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) will submit them to the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) as proposed revisions to the Illinois State Implementation Plan (SIP) for ozone. The SIP contains Illinois’ requirements to attain and maintain National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) for ozone to protect public health and the environment under the federal Clean Air Act and state Environmental Protection Act. The update is needed to ensure that Illinois’ regulations reflect the USEPA’s most recent NAAQS. Interested persons are invited to attend the hearings or to submit written comments. The Public Hearing will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2015, at 1:45 p.m. at the Pollution Control Board Conference Room, James R.
