Sealed BIDS will be received until 2:00 P.M. prevailing time on Thursday, June 28th 2012 at the office of the City Engineer, 706 South Glover Avenue, Urbana, Illinois, 61802 and opened and read aloud publicly at 2:30 P.M. prevailing time on Thursday, June 28th, 2012 at the Urbana Civic Center, 108 East Water Street Urbana, IL 61801 for the furnishing of all materials, equipment and labor necessary for the Boneyard Creek Improvement Project (Project No. 06-00428-03-EG).
The project includes construction of channel improvements, bridge and retaining walls, demolition, removal of sheet piling, concrete and asphalt paving, concrete sidewalks, utility adjustments, lighting, earthwork and grading, landscaping, irrigation and miscellaneous amenities. The construction site is generally adjacent to the Boneyard Creek between Griggs Street and Broadway Avenue in the City of Urbana and includes the rehabilitation of Race Street and Broadway Avenue.
Each BID must be accompanied by a BID BOND payable to the City of Urbana in the amount of five percent of the total amount of the BID. The BID BOND of the three lowest bidders for the CONTRACT will be held until receipt of a signed CONTRACT and CONTRACT BOND. All other BID BONDS will be returned after comparison of the BIDS. A CONTRACT BOND in the total amount of the contract price with a corporate surety approved by the City will be required for the faithful performance of the CONTRACT.
