The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) requires that Local Workforce Development Areas complete a Regional Planning Process. In Illinois the Governor has designated Local Workforce Development Areas 17 and 18 as the East Central Economic Development Region 2. In addition to a regional plan,Workforce Development Areas are required to submit separate local plan components.
The Workforce Development Board of East Central Illinois, Workforce Development Area 17(LWDA 17), serving Champaign, Ford, Iroquois, and Piatt Counties in partnership with Workforce Development Area 18, serving Vermillion county will submit a 4 year Regional Workforce Development Plan along with a local plan component under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act to the Bureau of Workforce Development of the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.
The 4 year Regional and LWDA 17s Local Workforce Development Plan may be reviewed at the Illinois workNet Center, 1307 North Mattis Avenue, Champaign, IL 61821.
