Operation Christmas Child Collection Week
Join Central Illinois volunteers impacting the lives of those in need around the world NOW by preparing for the collection of 16,566 gift-filled shoe boxes—Central Illinois’ target contribution to the world’s largest Christmas project of its kind, Operation Christmas Child. Throughout Nov 16 - 23, 2015 collection sites in Central Illinois will be bustling with activity as thousands of shoe boxes packed full of goodies for needy kids overseas are dropped off by local individuals and families. Then, using whatever means necessary—trucks, trains, boats, bikes and even elephants—the shoe box gifts will be hand-delivered to hurting children in 100 countries around the world. For information on your closest collection site and what to put in a shoebox check out www.Samaritanspurse.org. For the location of your nearest location to drop off y our shoebox, see http://www.samaritanspurse.org/operation-christmas-child/drop-off-locati... You can also build a shoebox through an online tool offering a personalized and convenient way to send a gift to a child in one of the hardest-to-reach countries. Using special tracking technology, participants can follow their boxes online and discover the country to which their gifts will be delivered to children in need. To register a shoebox gift, use the online donation form at samaritanspurse.org.
