My how far we've come: This, from the 'See something, say something' mailbag:
Suspicious package just food in a bag
A suspicious looking package found near a main entrance about 7 a.m. prompted the combined University of Illinois-Champaign police bomb squad to activate.

The only thing we have to fear, is 'food in a bag.' Stiil, it's comforting to know that the average citizen realizes that Osama could make a local visit at anytime. If he was able to arise from his grave. Good job, CIA, Pentagon, DHS, and all the other umpteen military/industrial org.'s that wouldn't be needed if we weren't kept in perpetual state of fear of a 'foreign threat.' Otherwise, we might think too long about the bank bailouts and wonder where our bailout is.
I'm not going to argue about the fear that is being derived from foreign "threats" but as far as that article is concerned, they were right do so in in taking precautions. Internal terrorism is always a possibility (and more so of one). There is always that extremist, fanatic and/or overall nut that can come out of the wood work. Hell it could have been someone pissed off at the city for some reason or another that prompted them to decide to plant a bomb. You never know. Just look at the recent shooting in Arizona and the guy that was arrested with explosives outside a Michigan mosque.
