UPDATE: Three hurt in 2-vehicle accident on U.S. 45 in Savoy

An SUV sits on top of the curb on Dunlap Avenue (U.S. 45) after a two-vehicle collision at the intersection with Burwash Avenue near the entrance to the Savoy 16 theaters about 5 p.m. Monday in Savoy. A Champaign County sheriff's deputy's report said Gary Duncan, 36, of Savoy, was southbound on 45 when his GMC Terrain hit a Kia Sorento turning west on to Burwash. Duncan and his passenger, as well as Lisa Fisher, 44, of Urbana, the driver of the other SUV, were all treated and released from area hospitals. The accident closed the southbound lanes of U.S. 45, causing traffic to back up during rush hour. Duncan was issued a ticket.
