Time to reset the "no one shot in Champaign for X number of days: sign back to 0.   But I am glad that CM Bruno has consistently voted against installation of cameras in downtown and elsewhere that would assist the police in solving the case.  After all.. he has been to East Germany, to Prague ( when it was under Soviet control) and China.  Of course he forgets  to mention that every large city in the US and even a bunch of smaller ones realize that cameras may not deter crime, but they help solve it.  You think old Tommy is happy or sad that a camera caught the Chinese student getting into Toms clients car............and that the car was identifiable on camera.................right down to the dent.  but do not worry......... Tommy is protecting your 4th amendment rights even thou SCOTUS has said that cameras on public streets  videoing public ways is not protected.  Thank Goodness that Boston did not enjoys Tommys logic.  The marathon bombers probably would never have been caught.
