Cpl. John Trefzger
Champaign native John Trefzger is a corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was stationed at Camp Fallujah in Iraq and volunteered to provide pictures for this photo gallery.
A graduate of Champaign Centennial High School, Trefzger is 24 years old. He is the son of Jim and Dorie Trefzger of Champaign.
Before being sent to Iraq, he was stationed at Camp LeJeune, N.C. While in North Carolina, he had various job titles, but communications maintenance is his primary job in the Marine Corps. He was part of the 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force's Operational Assessment Cell.
Trefzger has been in the Marine Corps for four and a half years, but this was his first deployment. He left Camp LeJeune for Iraq on March 8 and returned to the United States in October.
