Concert to raise money for funeral expenses

URBANA — Musicians from area churches are holding a concert Thursday evening to raise money for the funeral expenses of a teenager who died from cancer last month.

The benefit concert will be held at 7 p.m. at Morningstar Freewill Baptist Church, 1402 W. Eads St., U.

Pastor Angel Johnson of the Divine Invitation to Abundant Life Ministry said soloists, choirs and other musicians from various churches in the community will be performing.

An offering will be taken for Quintin Hall, a 16-year-old Centennial High School student who died Aug. 28 from colon cancer.

Johnson said organizers hope to raise between $5,000 and $6,000 to pay for Mr. Hall's funeral expenses.

She said an account called the Quintin Hall Fund has also been established at the University of Illinois Credit Union.
