Event a benefit for agency that helps survivors of sexual violence

URBANA — A buffet to benefit the local Rape Advocacy, Counseling and Education Services will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at Piato and Piato Too at Lincoln Square, Urbana.

The cost of the buffet is $5, and Piato will also accept donations of items on the agency's wish list including 20-pound copy paper, security envelopes, $10-$20 increment gas cards, $10-$20 pharmacy gift cards, and women's athletic shorts and yoga pants in all sizes.

Champaign-Urbana RACES provides free and confidential services to survivors of sexual violence living in Champaign Ford, Douglas and Piatt counties.

Services include a 24-hour hot line, medical and legal advocacy, public education, professional training and counseling.

Piato won't accept gift certificates for the fundraiser, but will accept cash, credit cards or checks, according to RACES.
