Christie Foundation sets dinner

CHAMPAIGN — Tickets are still available for a gala dinner being hosted by the Christie Foundation on May 31 at the I Hotel, Champaign.

The dinner will feature a keynote address by Will Harlan, an ultra runner, writer and organic farmer, and the presentation of scholarships to 85 of the area's top students pursuing medical careers.

Tickets for this inaugural Planting the Seeds gala dinner are $65 each.

The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. with the recognition of students, followed by a social hour and dinner at 7:30 p.m.

About 120 people are expected to attend, according to Gary Wackerlin, the foundation's executive director.
