Poker run to benefit veterans

CHAMPAIGN — The seventh annual Richard L. Pittman Marine Corps League poker run will benefit local veterans and wounded warriors July 27.

Rain or shine, the ride will start and end at Hooters of Champaign, 1706 S. State St.

Registration is from 9 to 11 a.m. Bikes start out at noon and return at about 5 p.m. Hooters will provide a free lunch for all registered riders and passengers from 11 a.m. to noon.

The entry fee is $20 per bike. You can ride and get a T-shirt for $25. Passengers ride free; the passenger poker hand is $10. T-shirts are on sale for $15 all day.

There are several raffles, including art by "Chunk" and sculpture by Artbydirt.com, and 50/50 raffles will take place before and after the ride.
