Benefit for safe houses Sunday at Hessel Park

CHAMPAIGN — The annual Gospel + Jazz Fest fundraiser that benefits the Men's and Women's SafeHouses will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday in Hessel Park.

The theme this year is "We are Stronger Together." The featured entertainment includes:

— The Fellowship District Choir;

— Nate Banks and Mo Betta Music;

— The Danville Community Choir;

— As One;

— The Vineyard Worship Team;

— The Canaan Praise Team;

— Gospel Rap; and

— Canaan Praise Dancers.

Food, including turkey legs, and beverages will be available for purchase.

SafeHouse, a ministry led by Canaan Baptist Church in Urbana, is a residential rehabilitation facility that is supported by several local churches, individuals and businesses.

The Substance Abuse Free Environment provides a safe recovery space for men and women in the community. Donations will be accepted at the concert and at http://www.canaansafehouse.org.
