SAFE Houses hold open houses

The public is invited to attend open houses from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Men's and Women's SAFE Houses in Champaign-Urbana.

The Women's SAFE House, 502 E. Church St., C, is a 12-month residential substance abuse program opened to female residents. The goal is to address the burdens facing women as they work to break their addictions.

The Women's SAFE House is expected to follow a similar curriculum as the successful Men's SAFE House Program, which opened its doors in 1994.

The Men's SAFE House, 213 N. Central St., U, has been receiving residents for more than 15 years.

The SAFE Houses are supported by the Canaan Development Foundation.
