Donations sought for project

CHAMPAIGN — The 4-H Champaign Mixed Clovers Club is looking for donations for its Warm-the-Kids community project.

The club needs 60-inch fleece before Nov. 1; one yard of fleece makes three hat and scarf sets. Donations may be dropped off at University of Illinois Extension Office, 801 N. Country Fair Drive, C. Monetary donations will also be accepted to purchase the fleece and gloves.

Last year, the club made 201 scarves and hats to donate to the Champaign County Warm-the-Kids program. The hats and scarves will be given to Champaign County pupils. Teachers recommend children who might need winter gear, and it goes directly to them.

This year, sewing will take place from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3:30 p.m. Nov. 9 at St. Matthew Church, 1303 Lincolnshire Drive, C. For more information, contact Linda Thiele at 714-1221 or via email at thieleli@hotmail.com.
